PREPARATION FOR LAILATUL QADR

✓RECITE QUR'AN
During the Night of Last Ashra, the recitation of the Holy Qur'an can also serve as a great means of worship worthy of the Blessed Night
"Verily! We have sent it (this Qur'an) down in the Night of Al-Qadr." Qur'an |97:1

✓DHIKR
Do the following Dhikr which is an ideal fit for the Night of Decree:
“La ilaha ilal-lah wahdahu la sharika lahu, lahul mulku wa lahul hamd wa huwa 'ala kulli shay-in qadir.” [Bukhari]

"The Night of Al-Qadr (Decree) is better than a thousands months (i.e. worshiping Allah in that night is better than worshiping Him a thousand months, i.e. 83 years and 4 months)." Qur'an |97:3

✓MAKE DUA
“Allahumma innaka `afuwwun tuhibbul `afwa fa`fu `annee” (Dua for Lailatul Qadr)
As Lailatul Qadr is a special occasion therefore, it is imperative that a Muslim makes special Dua for the occasion.

“Whoever establishes Salah on the Night of Al-Qadr out of sincere faith and hoping for a reward from Allah, all his previous sins will be forgiven.” [Bukhari]

✓OBSERVE I'TIKAAF
In order to pray the best during the night it is imperative that one prays during the night with dedication and without any distraction. The best way of going about it would be to observe the Sunnah of I'tikaaf during the last ten days.

“The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) used to exert Himself in the last ten nights more than He would at other times.” [Bukhari]
